How Reputation Works
Trust on 3D Models Community is earned, not bought. Four systems work together so you can identify reliable creators and reviewers.
We don’t publish the exact scoring formula to prevent gaming. This page explains what drives each score and how your behavior affects it — without revealing numeric weights or thresholds.
Karma
Karma is a single number that reflects your overall contribution to the community. It goes up when you do helpful things and goes down for negative behavior.
What increases karma
- Publishing a model
- Receiving downloads on your models
- Getting print-success reviews
- Writing reviews that help others
- Having your comments upvoted
- Receiving positive feedback from downloaders
What decreases karma
- Receiving negative feedback from downloaders
- Moderation penalties for guideline violations
Your karma score is visible on your profile. It gives other community members a quick sense of how active and helpful you are.
Creator Reputation
If you upload models, you have a creator reputation score rated from 1 to 5. This is the number displayed on your profile badge and on every model you publish.
What drives your score
- Average rating — How reviewers rate your models
- Print success rate — How often your models print successfully for others
- Community feedback — What downloaders say about their experience
New creators start with a neutral score that becomes more accurate as more people review their work. The system is deliberately conservative with new accounts — your score gains confidence over time, not overnight.
Rater Credibility
Not all reviews carry equal weight. The platform tracks how reliable each reviewer is, and this affects how much their ratings influence model quality scores.
What builds credibility
- Account age and consistent activity
- Ratings that align with the broader community consensus
- Reviews backed by actual downloads
This means that a review from a long-standing, active member whose past ratings have been reliable carries more influence than a review from a brand-new account. It’s a natural defense against rating manipulation.
Cred Tokens
Cred tokens let you promote your models for extra visibility in browse and search results. You earn them by being a good community member — not by paying.
How you earn tokens
- Publishing models
- Getting print-success reviews
- Writing helpful reviews
- Daily engagement on the platform
How promotion works
You can spend tokens to create a time-limited promotion campaign for one of your models. Promoted models get a visibility boost in search and browse results.
Spending is capped per model and per day to prevent any single creator from dominating the feed. Promotion never overrides trust signals — a promoted model with bad reviews still shows its real ratings.
