The lattice work in the center was a design inspired by Islamic art I saw in a mosque. I drew it out on paper then cut popsicle sticks to fit the line. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5560 Original creator: JonFS

Folding foot for a Dell SK-8135 multimedia keyboard. Useful after BSOD induced rage.I am aware that others have designed keyboard feet before, however the first thing that I will try to print I wanted to design from scratch.Overall size is 23x24x6mm including pivots. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5924 Original creator: theolodian

I made a thimble for Snaks. She seems to like it.The design is very similar to my rounded shot-glass, but scaled to fit her finger exactly, and with a bunch of conical dimples punched into the surface. The dimples are a bit too small (they barely show up on the printed object), but we think the slightly rough printed surface will serve the same purpose that the dimples would anyhow (to keep the needle point from slipping). I'd like to see a derivative or parametric way to add the dimples, as the were a pain to model. I printed it in two orientations to test fill on the up! printer. Outside fill was definitely easier, but the surface wasn't nearly as good as with inside fill. Inside fill required a good 30 minutes of toolwork to remove however. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6129 Original creator: corknut

We are developing a 3d scanner based on parts printed from a makerbot. These files show the printed parts, put together with a logitech camera, a laser, and a mirror mounted on a galvanometer. The basic idea along with our first implementation is described here: http://abarry.org/stereoWe are developing the software using a microchip PIC to drive the mirror, along with software to obtain point clouds and meshlab to mesh the point cloud. There is a long way to go with the software, but at least we have some nice printed hardware to get the data. UPDATE: new scans -- we've added a screenshot of a scanned artichoke! --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1491 Original creator: SingularityU

When you get a makerbot usually everything at home gets broken and needs to be repaired. This is what happened to my pot cover handle. As the cover won't surpase 100ºC while cooking because the water maintains this temperature while boiling, it will resist for ages. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5858 Original creator: thingibox

I needed a way to hold my RAMPS electronics down along the side, but I didn't have the foresight to put any extra nuts in the extrusions. So I designed this RAMPS holder that's simply held on using gravity and friction. It uses three M3 screws that must be at least 18 mm long, but you can get away with just using two. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16047 Original creator: Pointedstick

An openscad toy truck. The wheels should spin. I designed this thing a long time ago and never set up oozebane so I was never able to get the wheels working. Now with the Mk6 stepstruder, it's no problem. There are still some small threads sticking the axles to the truck but you can break them pretty easily (especially if it's still a tiny bit warm) --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5273 Original creator: jag

Here is my Metric 3mm lasercut linear slide cut out of scrap acrylici honestly didn't expect it to actually work out well at all, it started as a sarcastic comment to a friendafter you move it back and forth up the rail and break off any sharp bits and burrs it is practically frictionless and as it has turned out quite the viable linear slide with a little bit of dry glide or somthing similar it may even offer quite a high service life *depending on the acrylic you use it may be required to shim two of the end bits with a bit of 80gsm paper --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14295 Original creator: thejollygrimreaper
