Inspired by Zomboe's Thing8, I created this double-helix ladder which is meant to be printed without support :) How far up the ladder can your printer climb?I managed to print 9 clean rungs before it all started to go to pieces :) If you play around with Skeinforge cool I reckon more would be possible. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4659 Original creator: chylld

Thanks to dino-girl for uploading the DXF file fo this design.I imported the DXF into Solidworks 2010, cleaned it up as the imports aren't always 100%, and saved each of the body parts as a seperate file as the DXF file had it all in one.I then checked for thickness of the parts by looking at the width of the connecting slots and modified my files accordingly. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8694 Original creator: Neophyte

Is your MK4 sitting unused and lonely since you\'ve upgraded to the MK5? Give it a new lease on life and turn it into a handheld welding gun! Use it to patch up any holes or loose threads in your prints or to glue broken plastic parts back together. You can see me welding the lid of a very poorly printed and particularly dangerous teapot shut to prevent accidental use.The STL files include parts for a hand grip that slips over the DC motor, a finger guard so you don\'t burn yourself on the retainer washer, and a trigger bracket for a push button. SolidWorks 2010 model files are also included. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4156 Original creator: donutman_2000

This is a wrench to help open and close plastic soda bottles. I developed it for my mother-in-law who has arthritis in her thumb joints and has difficulty with unscrewing these bottle caps by hand.I experimented with several concepts before hitting on the opposed teeth that you see here. The idea is that the teeth will flex when the wrench is pushed onto the cap. When the wrench is turned, one of the sets of three teeth will bend upward and grip the cap surface. This particular design is a compromise between ease of pushing on (it still takes a good push) and strength of grip. If anyone makes one, I would like to know how well it works for them. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8942 Original creator: cakrauter

Loved the design but I don't have a laser cutter, so I ported the DXF into SolidWorks and generated 3D parts to print. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9303 Original creator: DrewPetitclerc

Here is a really simple design for a can cover. It does not keep a gas tight seal on an open can, but keeps stuff from getting in if you are outside or just want to transport an open can in a car, bike ride, etc.The origin of this idea was taking a can of soda outside to the patio and (not noticing) a wasp dive into the open can.UPDATED 06/23/2010 - The cover could come into contact with the can\'s contents to some extent, so if there is any question about ABS and food safety - place a piece of plastic food wrap between the cover and the can top.UPDATED 06/26/2010 - The 'cover275.stl' file added below fits onto a 2.6" DIA. (66mm DIA) can. Layer of food wrap suggested between cover and can top. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3383 Original creator: ElectronicKit

This is a heavily cleaned & modified version of artur83's Penrose Triangle, which was a great design however not printable. It is now enlarged (longest dimension 99.97mm) and printable on almost any FDM printer without requiring support. Walls have been thickened at the bottom to ensure a secure footing and to minimise excess overhang angles.Best viewed with one eye closed - looking at it with 2 eyes almost ruins the illusion :) --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6474 Original creator: chylld

So, you've created a sweet rubber stamp to stamp Mitch Altman's awesome hackerspace passports with. Now what? Are you just going to take that thing and hot-glue it to a block of wood? Well, if you're anything like us, probably. But allow me to suggest an alternative-- print out a custom-sized rubber stamp handle, and issue visas in bureaucratic style! --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11619 Original creator: phooky

I've seen a lot of puzzle-shaped things on Thingiverse, and thought it was a nice shape to use for a desktop organizer thing. Shapes are 10mm to 80mm high.Update: I added 90mm and 100mm to complete the set. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4334 Original creator: Zydac

At long last, everyone in the world (ok everyone who has access to a 3d printer) can have their own bust of America's greatest entertainer and statesman, Stephen Colbert. Even better, you can use this model and your favorite 3d modeling software to add Mr. Colbert's face to objects which were formerly lacking in Colbert heads, like bannisters, umbrella handles, toothpaste squeezers, and rabbits. (To name a few.)Made with a Polhemus 3d scanner at the Colbert set on 6/6/2011. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9104 Original creator: Colbert

This is inspired by a recent post showing how you could use a credit or membership card as an earbud holder. ( www.unplggd.com/unplggd/turn-old-credit-cards-into-earbud-holders-146446 )I loved the concept, but felt the design could be improved. This design significantly reduces the time it takes to wrap and unwrap. You wrap the long way, and the over-wrap locks things in quickly. The big speed improvement though, is on removal. As soon and you remove the over-wrap the entire cord bundle just slides off.As an afterthought, I noticed that there's a nice area for business card-y stuff --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8528 Original creator: br3ttb
