I'm building what will likely turn out to be the ugliest cigar box ukulele ever, and found I didn't have any wood hard enough to do the job for the bridge, and the nut I had carved, too, looked a bit too fragile. Hopefully these will do the job.I've printed this and the parts seem to work. The "instrument" (I use the word loosely) I built is a soprano ukulele, you may want to tweak some things if you build a different size. You may need to tweak some stuff anyway, the height of the saddle and the nut being the first that come to mind, depending on your ukulele. The saddle has no supports for attachment to the ukulele. I just glued it on and it seems to have stuck well enough. For a stronger structure, you'd want to make a back piece to put on the inside of the ukulele, extrude a couple of pegs from that and make corresponding holes on the bridge. I may do that if/when I get around to building another ukulele.Included is also the original Blender file which should be easier to edit than the STLs, if you can open it. I find when I open stl files imported from Blender in ReplicatorG, the models must be scaled to 0.5. I was expecting some factor of 10, but go figure. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8492 Original creator: rebuilder

The filament tends to slip out of the hobbed area of the extruder drive bolt on my machine. I wanted to make a new extruder block, either http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13530 or http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14317 but of course, because my extruder couldn't be left unattended for more than a minute or two, and this is a big part, I couldn't ever get one finished. So this is just a little insert that sits inside the extruder chamber, and prevents the filament from being squeezed out. It's dead simple. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14502 Original creator: euphy

Perhaps it's bad form to create a derivative of your own thing when it's just a code update rather than an actual 'thing' but...This thing incorporates a couple more changes to the Bezier functions. First, it adds a 3 element version of the PointOnBezCubic() function. So, there's now 2D and 3D. The 3D version can be used for x,y,z values, or for r,g,b values, as demonstrated in the pictures.Speaking of pictures, I've added an example of how to use color with the bezier curve to give your images that groovy ramped color goodness. I expect to do very bad things with this. Some more factoring and commenting of the code should make it fairly easy to understand. But, all that goodness was added so that I could actually create BezierStrips! Just think of it. You give the function two sets of control points (4 points each), and it will generate an extruded strip that is 'in between' the two curves. Curve1 is on 'top' and Curve2 is on 'bottom', but actually it doesn't matter what their orientation is.This is really great for creating things like handles for cups, or funky looking springy feet, or vert ramps for skateboard parks.Just more Bezier goodness. One of the pictures shows a bell shaped thing. that's just a Bezier strip rotated around the z-axis an appropriate number of times. Can be used to make very interesting other shapes no doubt. And who knew OpenScad was able to render things so nicely!UPDATE: If you're interested in more words on this design, you can take a look here: http://williamaadams.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/mr-bezier-goes-to-openscad/ --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8454 Original creator: WilliamAAdams

Someone needed a mount for a Bell light, so I threw this together. The seatpost clamp design was borrowed from the typical reflector mount and could also be used for other stuff... like reflectors. The light mount can also be generated from the scad file with a tab to make it removable with those wedge tension clip things. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8999 Original creator: dreameredeemer

The Hexayurt is an incredible project, reinventing disaster housing:http://hexayurt.comVinay Gupta, the creator of the hexayurt approached me to try to find larger shapes that could also be build (reasonably) simply with zero-waste from 2x1 rectangles. His version of the story is here: http://vinay.howtolivewiki.com/blog/other/large-hexayurt-style-domes-a-problem-solved-1730I came up with two additional larger domes. Models for the original hexayurt and the two new domes are all here.A longer write up and a little more detail are here:http://www.tilings.org.uk/Hexayurt_Family.pdf --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3139 Original creator: Gelada

Toy car with wheels that move, but requires no assembly. Here is a short video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWW5DFWcvhEThe wheels took some effort to loosen up after printing, but they now roll quite nicely on the right surface.Other problems: There is definitely some warping from the plastic cooling/shrinking (I used ABS).The transition from the wheel to the axle is a bit steep for the makerbot. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:651 Original creator: karlparanya
