I found it a bit challenging to get the Y-axis belt tension just right by using the belt clamps, so I made this Y-belt tensioner in SketchUp. It allows for more accurate tensioning of the belt using a M3 bolt and captive nut. The design is based on the belt tensioning system used in GregFrost's LM8UU X-Carriage (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9869).The holes have the same spacing as the original belt clamps, so you should be able to simply replace the existing clamps without drilling new holes. The tensioning bolt can be reached with an allen key even with the build plate mounted on top.Sorry for the SketchUp design. I haven't taken the plunge into parametric modelling yet... --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10274 Original creator: chrille

This is a peristaltic pump we created during Futurelabcamp Boston. It uses a NEMA 14 stepper motor to drive the rotational pump. The stepper motor driver is based on the standard design of L297/L298. We use an arduino to step it. It has it's own website on http://peristalsis.tentacleriot.eu --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8914 Original creator: mihi

I made four of these music boxes as christmas gifts to my family. The PDF pattern was generated with a Processing script, which I wrote. I've included the script for reference, although you only need the PDF to produce copies of the box. Each box is laser cut from a single piece of 12x12 plywood. Here's a video of my daughter on Christmas: http://youtu.be/n9I88Lt0zUwThe lid of the box contains an inlaid Hilbert curve, a kind of space-filling fractal. A more detailed Hilbert curve is etched into the bottom of the box. The sides of the box contain inlays or holes in the shape of the letter J, which is the first initial of each of my four family members. The pieces of the box fit together like a puzzle. Each side contains a single letter J, which I dyed different colors, using food coloring. These could also have been left as holes, to make the box louder. The crank hole is designed for a very common type of hand-cranked movement, of which Kikkerland is one manufacturer. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14546 Original creator: jbum

Phoenix Laser Engraving creates these Shoji Shadow Box kits for sale in our Etsy shop http://phoenixlaser.etsy.com .In traditional Japanese architecture, a Shoji is a door, window or room divider consisting of translucent paper over a frame of wood which holds together a sort of grid of wood or bamboo. (Shoji, 2009)Shoji doors are often designed to slide open, and thus conserve space that would be required by a swinging door. They are used in traditional houses as well as Western-style housing, especially in the washitsu (Japanese-style room). (Shoji, 2009)Phoenix Laser Engraving creates these beautiful Shoji Shadow Boxs from Birch Plywood, and we hand glue the paper to the inside to provide an elegant item. These special Shoji Shadow Boxes are made for Bedside Tables, Romantic Nights, Cubical Desks, and hanging. The subtle light sets the mood and catches attention. The candle inside is battery operated so no worries.ShMji. (2009, December 10). In Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Man am I happy with my new UP! 3D printer (from 3dprintingsystems.com)I designed my propeller using SolidWorks in pieces so I could dismantle them and to make each part the right size for my printer. You will see that the blades have a rim on the top and bottom of their mounting that slips into the corresponding channels/recesses in the nose cone and base. I have put a spline on the bottom of the nose cone shaft to provide alignment for everything and to give a positive drive when used. Unfortunately it makes the keyed hole for the drive shaft rather small. The blades are able to slip in this housing if they hit something but unfortunately they might also slip if there is too much drive power. Next time I would run the spline down the whole shaft and put them on it too. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7779 Original creator: Brinny

In need of nutrition information for your large eggs? Then this drawing is just what you've been looking for! This is a 3200 x 800 pixel plot intended for plotting with the Eggbot.P.S. The text was rendered using the new Hershey Text extension by Windell Oskay and distributed with the latest Eggbot software release. It may be found in Inkscape under Extensions > Render > Hershey Text (after you update to the latest Eggbot software). The utility of that extension is not limited to just the Eggbot. Among other things, it provides nice, non-filled, single stroke fonts ideal for use in CNC and CNC-related applications. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7232 Original creator: dnewman

We bought lots of white ABS with our shapercube.. Lots. But who wantsto print everything in white? After a while that got abit.. samey. So, an experiment, jam a coloured marker in the feedstockinlet and see what happens. What happened was, coloured prints cameout. So the idea for the marker organ was born, a way to attachedseveral coloured markers to the feedstock, and pick which one, orcombination, is colouring the plastic. This is the first attempt, a simple clamp over the feedstock whichholds a single marker against it. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5570 Original creator: theorbtwo

After looking on Ebay and seeing people sell rectangular pieces of wood to be used as Doll House roof shingles, I decided to be a little more efficient.Instead of manually gluing each individual shingle and paying an arm and a leg for a bag of wood chips, I created a 3D model in CorelDraw that can be laser engraved to create a 3D surface. This SVG file is just a small portion, you can resize it, copy / paste, etc... Until you reach your desired size. This was created using the contour tool in CorelDraw to create a 3D gray scale height map that the laser can interpret. --- Imported from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2515 Original creator: PhoenixLaser
